Another growing year ends...

So, another 'growing' year comes to an end as the first hard frost is forecast tonight. Now the focus shifts on making sure the ground is prepared before the deep snow comes. I'm planning to use a mixture of old hay, grass clippings and leaves to till into the gardens so that by next spring the ground will be ready to plant with vegetable starts.

The tomatoes planted this year were so delicious that they were all sold within the first few hours at the Ogden Farmers Market.  I'm hoping to plant more next year to keep up with the demand. The favorite varieties this year were Italian Heirloom, Hungarian Heart and Beams Yellow Pear. Of the cucumbers, Japanese Climbing was very popular.
